Tottenham
Hoptspur are planning to beat Arsenal in the race to sign Porto star Jackson
Martinez, as per Metro reports.
The
Daily Mirror revealed few days ago
that Arsenal have agreed a deal with the Portuguese side for their Colombian star
but the latest reports from Metro means that the deal is still on the way.
Spurs
boss Mauricio Pochettino will already be selling strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto
Soldado this summer and will then be short of strikers.
Spurs
recent season's star Harry Kane was exceptional for them, however the boss is keen
to get Champions League spot next season for which he is eyeing to add more attacking
force.
Martinez
who has proved his goal scoring record at the Portuguese club is also keen to
join Premier League side. He
has been the most consistent scorer, has scored more than 20 goals for the
last three seasons for Porto.
His
move is likely to happen in the next few weeks as his contract also is in his
favour. His contract says that he is free to choose his next destination this season.
Spurs and Arsenal will be going head to head for his move in the coming days and will soon the reports will reveal the winner of the race.
