Arsenal
are closing on their first summer signature of striker Jackson Martinez from Portuguese
side Porto, as per Telegraph reports.
The recent reports claimed that Arsenal are leading the race to sign the Colombian star who is currently on international duty. Copa America started yesterday and the star striker is waiting for his first match.

Italian
side AC Milan and La Liga outfit Valencia are also in the race and the reports
from last week claimed that AC Milan were leading the race, however the striker
wants to move to a Champions League side.
AC
Milan failed to qualify for the Champions League spot while the rest of two are
likely to fight for his services. The
only way for Milan is to pay a huge contract offer to the goal machine, else he
would surely prefer a move to a Champions League side.
The
28-year-old scored 21 goals in 29 league appearances last term. He also appeared
in 8 Champions League games and scored seven in them.
Martinez
is expected to prefer a move to Premier League as he once told that he would
like to play in England.
If
Arsenal seal his deal then Olivier Giroud might then struggle to get chances
and might leave in the future.
Martinez transfer saga will soon be ended once he return from international duty.
