Arsenal
boss Arsene Wenger has given a hint that midfielder Abou Diaby would be on his
way out of Emirates in the summer, according to Daily Mirror.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told after Queens Park Rangers' Premier League clash last night: “The only thing I can say about Diaby is that he progresses well in training. He goes step by step but is not yet in a position to play.”
The
Frenchman hinted by saying that there is no place for Diaby in Arsenal squad.
The
28-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and the Sun reported
that Wenger will seal a new midfielder deal instead of giving him a new contract.
Diaby
has made only one appearance for the first team this season which came in a League Cup
game. The French midfielder has picked up more than 40 injuries since his £2
million move from Auxerre in 2006. He is still out with an injury,
however he will return soon but the boss has told that he has no place for him
at Emirates.
Also, a top performer Francis
Coquelin signed a three-year deal last month which clearly
opens the exit door for Diaby.
While,
it is already reported that Arsenal have agreed to sign Morgan Schneiderlin in the summer. The Southampton’s midfielder is valued at £20 million.
