Arsenal
have agreed another deal as Spanish reports suggested earlier today. The deal
is of a defender who was also being eyed by Manchester United.
Arsenal
have reached an agreement with Villareal for their centre-half Gabriel Paulista,
according to Metro reports.
It
was reported that the deal was agreed on the same day when the Gunners
announced their first winter signing of midfielder Krystian Bielik. Gunners
paid £2million for the Polish teenager.
While
La Liga defender Gabriel Paulista is also closing on his Arsenal deal with Villareal
coach Marcelino is also likely to confirm the deal in the coming days.
Paulista
is also targeted by Manchester United who will now have to look for other defenders
in the market.
The
24-year-old would cost around £20million, according to Spanish media. The Brazilian
is a regular player for Villareal but would have to struggle at Emirates as
the centre-back role is occupied by Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny. He has
played 19 La Liga games so far this season.
The
reports further suggested that the player is waiting for a work permit but is likely
to get before the deal.
Arsenal
another targeted defender Winston Reid who expressed his desire to play for the
Gunners would now have to look for other club.
