Arsenal
target Winston Reid is set to leave West Ham United as the player revealed his
Arsenal ambition, as per Mirror reports.
West
Ham defender has been in link with the Gunners for the past few weeks but
nothing was taken seriously.
With
the latest reports from Mirror, the New Zealand international could become the
next winter signing for Arsene Wenger who is yet to find a right player to
solve his defensive issues despite of linking with several defenders.
The
Hammers have valued him at £8million and Wenger is likely to seal the deal for
£5million, as per the reports.
Hammers
boss Sam Allardyce also preferred Collins and James Tomkins in the centre-back
role. Reid who will be out of contract at the end of the season was dropped
last weekend from the lineup.
Arsenal
local rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also in the queue for the 28-year-old.
Meanwhile,
West Ham have already started the search of Reid’s replacement. They submitted
bid for Nigeria international Azubuike Egwuekwe which was rejected by his side Warri
Wolves who want £4million.
Reid
has made 114 Premier League appearances since his move from Midtjylland in
2010.
