Bayern
Munich star player Thomas Müller has beaten Mario Gomez to be named as the top
scorer for the German side in the Champions League.
Thomas
Müller remain tied with his former teammate Mario Gomez with 23 goals for
almost two months. The 23rd goal was scored against AS Roma in a Champions
League 7 – 1 win at Stadio Olimpico.
The
25-year-old attacker scored his 24th goal from the penalty spot against
Russian side CSKA Moscow yesterday. The German giants who had already secured
the place in the knockout stages ended their Champions League group stages with
a victory that took them to 15 points.
Muller
is only 25-year-old and there are many years waiting for him. If he continues
the same performance in the future then he might easily get a half century.
Since
he made his first appearance for Bayern in 2008, he knew how to put the ball in
the goal whether from foot, head, back or skin.
Below
are the top five goal scorers for Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Thomas
Müller (24), Mario Gomez (23), Giovane Elber (22), Arjen Robben/Claudio Pizarro
(18), Roy Makaay (17), Franck Ribery (16).
Muller
is likely to maintain his record as there is no one who can easily beat him in
the near future.
