The Englishman has been out from regular first team action since January after he suffered a knee injury in a FA Cup game against Tottenham Hotspurs at Emirates Stadium.

Walcott returned from that injury in October and was back to first team but could not find a lineup before picking up groin injury while on international duty. He made two Premier League appearances against Burnley and Swansea City.

The 25-year-old has suffered 43 injuries, more than any other Arsenal player. While Abou Diaby is with the second most injuries (40).

Walcott will take time to set his feet once again on the ground but Arsenal are in desperate need of him because he can give a real boost for the Gunners.

Walcott had a surgery on his groin problem and is expected to be back in the coming days. He might not feature this weekend against Newcastle but is expected to get few minutes against Liverpool on 21st of December.

Boss Arsene Wenger told before the Champions League clash with Galatasaray that it would be too early for him he needs a little more time.

The former Southampton star is currently spending his 10th season with the North London side. He has made 283 appearances since his move.
