Premier
League side Arsenal have reignited their interest in former Newcastle United
midfielder Yohan Cabaye, according to Daily
Mirror.
Paris Saint-German midfielder Cabaye was once linked with a move to the
Emirates Stadium before leaving for France few years ago.
Arsenal
offered £10million which was rejected by Newcastle United and later PSG splashed
£15.5million to seal his deal. But the boss Laurent Blanc has not given him a permanent
place in the starting lineup.
Cabaye
has started only ten league games so far this season. The 29-year-old is also
reportedly eyeing to return to Premier League to get regular football once
again.
Arsenal
boss Arsene Wenger is said to be a big admirer of the Frenchman and the reports
claim that he can afford his move easily as the Gunners have a £50million
transfer budget for the summer window.
The
Gunners are planning to sign a midfielder this summer, they have been linked
with several players including Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.
Arsene
Wenger will prefer Cabaye over Schneiderlin as the Saints star will cost around
£25million. Arsenal are looking to seal Cabaye’s deal for a fee around £10million.
Meanwhile, the arrival of a new midfielder would be a trouble for Francis Coquelin as he could be the one to make his way for the new signing.
