Reports have now revealed a strong interest from Arsenal for Sporting Lisbon defensive midfielder William Carvalho.
The Gunners who lost to Southampton earlier today not only lacked in the defense but also suffered with the same midfield issues.
Since the departure of Alex Song to Barcelona, Arsene Wenger has not found a quality defensive midfielder.
Metro published an article earlier today that Arsenal must sign either Morgan Schneiderlin or William Carvalho who is set to join the Gunners, according to several reports.
Schneiderlin was also linked heavily in the past and he was strongly pushing a move to the Gunners, however, it was Wenger who did not take it seriously.
But now it seems like Carvalho deal is done, soon the North London side will announce their first summer signing.
Carvalho was also linked with the Gunners in the summer but opted to stay in Portugal. But this month he will be finalizing his move to the Premier League.
North London side are keen to land him for a right price which is around €25million.
Daily Star and Daily Mail have reported that Arsenal will be signing the Portuguese midfielder in the next couple of days.
