Top 5 Summer Signings of La Liga 2014-15: Navas (Real Madrid), Rakitic (Barcelona), Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Rodriguez (Real Madrid), Suarez (Barca).

With the La Liga season just a week away from returning to our TV screens, let’s look at the happenings that occurred in summer transfer window. When Atletico arsenal Madrid grab La Liga title last season, Spanish Giants like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona were stunned. It was after 10 years period that any team instead of Barcelona and Real Madrid has lifted this glorious trophy. So both these Giants have spent big money in Transfer Window and eradicated their weaknesses from last season. But it is not only these two who exercised their muscles but others teams have already spent well in this transfer window. League Champions Atletico Madrid have sold their star striker Diego Costa and brought in a couple of replacements for him.

5- Keylor Navas
One of the best goalkeepers in World Cup and La Liga last season, Keylor Navas was a star up for grab. The former Levante Goal Keeper is signed by Real Madrid and he has all the abilities to solve Real Madrid’s goalkeeping problems from last season. After selling Diego Lopez, it’ll be a two horse race for the goal keeping position at Santiago Bernabeau.  Having kept 17 clean sheets last season with a mid-table side and making the most number of saves in Europe’s top 5 leagues, Navas will be a key factor for Real Madrid in coming seasons.

4- Ivan Rakitic
Ivan Rakitic had a superb last season with Sevilla. He was the brain of his side and his ability to give through balls makes him very difficult to mark. He was one of their star performers in that campaign. Having scored 12 and assisted 10 goals for the La Liga side, the midfielder also play a key role in his team’s Europa League triumph. So after having an all-round brilliant season, Ivan is brought to FC Barcelona. The Croatian will fill the vacant places of Cesc Fabregas and Xavi and has all the abilities to turn this midfield in a European Power House once again. His ability to go for successful key passes more often than not, will help the players like Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar to be much more successful in front of goal.

3- Antoine Griezmann
The French Winger is one of the World’s aspiring young talents who has all the abilities to be a great player. Former Real Sociedad man was linked with big sides before he penned his deal with Atletico. Having scored 16 goals last season, he was joint top scorer for his club. By playing as a winger, he is one of very few players who are very dangerous in front of goal and has an eye for goal. After selling Diego Costa, Atletico needs someone who can replace his goals and Griezmann can just be that player. The Spanish Champions bought this Wonder Kid for £24million. As they look to defend their La Liga title, Griezmann will not only prove a quality addition, but somebody who can keep them near the top even. Atletico will go with a 4-2-3-1 formation and Antoine will play a key part as a winger. Diego Simeone has send an important message to his rivals with this signing that his team will only be stronger from last season.

2- James Rodriguez
James Rodriguez has stepped up in one of the World’ Best this summer. After having a sumptuous World Cup, the Colombian was in demand. He won Golden Ball award and scored most number of goals outscoring Messi and Neymar. So Real Madrid bought James for a huge fee of £63million. With his salivating talent, the Colombian will add more flare and goals to this current Real Madrid side. When the likes of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and James will play for Real Madrid in the comingseason, one thing is for sure, it will surely be a treat to watch.

1- Luis Suarez
Without any doubt, the most glittering transfer activity that has happened so far during this transfer window is Luis Suarez’ arrival at FC Barcelona. Despite of all sorts of problems, Barcelona decided to fetch the Uruguayan away from Liverpool for a huge fee of £73million. Luis Suarez, one of the World’s Best Player, scored 31 goals last season for Liverpool. He made life hell for opposing defenders. But one field where he has to improve is his discipline. He along with Messi and Neymar, will form Europe’s deadliest trio.
