Top five Germany players of last decade, Lahm, Kahn, Schweinsteiger, Ballack and Klose. Do you agree?

Germany are the favorites to win this World Cup as they look stronger than ever.  


Here are the top five players of Germany from last ten years. Three of them are currently the part of German squad for the World Cup. All of them are current or past Bayern Munich players.

5. Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich – Midfielder)
Last year’s Champions League winner Schweinsteiger has scored 23 goals and assisted 32 in 101 games for his international side. The 29-year-old who has won seven Bundesliga titles played his first game for Germany in 2004.

4. Michael Ballack (Retired – Midfielder)
Former Chelsea player Ballack enjoyed 42 goals in 98 appearances for Germany. He won a silver and a bronze medal of World Cup in 2002 and 2006, respectively.

3. Miroslav Klose (Bayern Munich – Striker)
Klose is the second most capped player with 131. The 35-year-old will be playing his last international tournament this month. He has scored 68 goals since his debut in 2001.

2. Oliver Kahn (Retired – Goalkeeper)
One of the best goalkeeper of him time, Kahn played 86 games games for Germany and led Germany to the 2002 World Cup final. He was also named as the best goalkeeper of that World Cup.

1. Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich – Right back)
Lahm who can also play as a defensive midfielder has capped 105 times for Germany. He played his first game for Germany in 2004. The 30-year-old is currently the captain of Germany.
