Chelsea
boss Antonio Conte told few months ago that despite of his good performances
last season for Chelsea, he will not include him in his plans for this season.
Costa
was heavily linked with a move back to Atletico Madrid and he was hoping to
seal the deal, but the deal fell through as both the clubs could not meet on
the fee.
Atletico
Madrid reportedly offered half of what Chelsea demanded. Also, the La Liga side
are currently ban from transfer market, they were in no mood to pay wages for a
player who will not be able to play for six months.
The
28-year-old has not made any appearance so far this season, he will also not be
playing any European games as he is not a part of 25 men squad.
Chelsea
have included all their summer signings Alvaro Morata, Antonio Rudiger, Danny
Drinkwater, Willy Caballero, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Davide Zappacosta in the
squad.
