English
side Chelsea have reached an agreement with Italian side AS Roma for their
player Antonio Rudiger, according to SkySports.
SkySports
have revealed that Premier League winners Chelsea have agreed to sign Antonio
Rudiger from Roma for a fee around £33.4million.
The
24-year-old is set to finalize the deal next week, he will be having a medical
on Monday, and is expected to sign a five year deal.
The
Italian reports suggest that the center-back will cost £29milliion as an initial
fee, further £4.4million on add-ons.
Blues manager Antonio Conte has been keen to sign a center-back because the Blues have
lost two players in this summer window. Nathan Ake has signed a deal at
Bournemouth, while Chelsea legend John Terry left the club after the end of
last season.
The
German could be considered as a long term replacement of Terry.
Meanwhile,
Chelsea are set to join the race to sign Southampton center-back Virgil van
Dijk. The Saints are not ready to sell their star players this summer. Liverpool
and Manchester City are also said to be interested in his move.
Rudiger
made 72 appearances for Roma during his two season of stay, he has also capped
16 times for Germany.
