The
Toffees have been eyeing him for the past few months, the stopper won Sunderland’s
player of the season award last season.
The
reports suggest that Everton have paid an initial fee of £25million and would pay
additional £5million depending on player’s performance.
The
23-year-old who is currently enjoying with England under 21 squad has revealed
his happiness after signing a five year deal. He is very excited to play for
Everton.
Everton
manager Ronald Koeman is also very happy on this deal as he said, “I'm really pleased
we've made what I'm sure will be a significant signing for Everton.”
However,
due to lack of experience Koeman is likely to stick with Maarten Stekelenburg
as the no. 1 goalkeeper at Goodison Park. But Pickford is ready to fight for
his place and could be giving tough time to the Dutch stopper.
Pickford
made 32 appearances for Sunderland in all campaigns last season.
Apart
from that Everton are keeping tabs on AC Milan defender Gustavo Gomez, according
to Italian reports. The Serie A side are ready to sell the 24-year-old to
Toffees.
