Arsenal
goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is set to join Serie A winners Juventus after both
the clubs reached an agreement, according to SkySports.
SkySports
reported earlier today that the Italian giants Juventus have reached an agreement
with Arsenal for Poland international stopper Wojciech Szczesny.
The
deal has been agreed for a fee around £14million, the player will soon be
heading to Turin for a medical and to finalize personal terms. The reports
suggested that Juventus have offered him a four year contract.
Szczesny
who joined the Gunners from Legia Warsaw in 2006 made 181 appearances before
moving to Roma on loan in 2013.
The
27-year-old has already impressed in the Italian top flight with Roma, keeping 14
clean sheets in the recent season.
Szczesny
will be replacing goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon who is expected to announce his
retirement once his current contract expires, the contract has one year left
which means the new stopper will not be getting the number 1 role in the upcoming
season.
Buffon
hopes of winning his first Champions League trophy last weekend were destroyed
by Real Madrid as they scored four goals to win back to back European titles.
