Liverpool
are targeting former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas for a summer move,
according to several media outlets.
Spanish
newspaper AS revealed earlier today that Premier League side Liverpool are keen
to seal Iker Casillas pre-deal.
The
former Real Madrid star who has been playing at Portuguese side FC Porto has
also been eyeing for a move this summer.
Meanwhile,
Turkish and Chinese side are also said to be interested in the Spaniard. However,
the Reds are confident that their deal would be enough to convince the player.
The
36-year-old has one year left in his current contract at FC Porto.
Liverpool
boss Jurgen Klopp signed goalkeeper Loris Karius last summer who failed to impress. Simon Mignolet remained the number one keeper for the Merseyside Reds though the Belgian is still not a world class stopper.
Liverpool
conceded 42 goals in the Premier League this season.
Klopp
has targeted several players to strengthen his side as they will be taking part
in the Champions League qualifiers next season. Casillas would be an ideal
signing, considering his European experience.
Will Casillas consider moving to
Liverpool? What do you think?
