Sunderland
striker Jermain Defoe has been linked with a sensational return to West Ham
United, according to The Guardian.
The
latest reports have revealed that West Ham are planning to offer £6million to
Sunderland for the possible move of Defoe next month.
The
34-year-old is not a long term option for the Hammers but he would certainly
add goals which they currently need to climb the Premier League table.
West
Ham are also keeping tabs on AC Milan forward Carlos Bacca who was also linked
in the summer but the English side failed to sign him.
The
London side are currently on 13th spot in the Premier League with only 19
points. They are five points clear from the relegation zone.
Defoe
is a great striker with a proven goal scoring record, he has netted eight goals
in 14 league games for the Black Cats this season. But on the other hand, Sunderland would not be in mood to sell their star man in the
January window. He has been an important part and could help them to avoid the
relegation this season.
Also
for their second option Bacca would be happy in Italy with a side that are
fighting for the Champions League spot.
