Leicester
City star player Riyad Mahrez is now expected to stay at the club, according to
club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
Mahrez
has been in link with a move away from the King Power Stadium since the end of
last season.
Have you missed yesterday's Daily Transfer News?
The
25-year-old played an important role for Leicester City in their Premier League
winning season. He also won the PFA player of the year award.
Mahrez
has been eyed by several top sides in this summer transfer window but the club
owner has now clearly told that their star player will stay.
Srivaddhanaprabha posted a picture on social media with a caption “VS: Not for sale. Mahrez: OK
boss”.
The
Algeria international forward has been targeted by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger
who has been looking for a double deal for Mahrez and Jamie Vardy.
His
teammate Vardy was also in link with Arsenal but he clearly preferred to
stay and hoped that Mahrez will also follow him.
While
former Arsenal defender Lauren believes that Mahrez would be a great addition
to Arsene Wenger side but the Gunners have Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey,
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott.
