Southampton
have completed the signing of attacker Sofiane Boufal from French side Lille,
according to SkySports.

The
reports have revealed that the Saints paid a club record fee around £16million
for the highly rated winger. Dani Osvaldo was holding the record of the most
expensive transfer with £15million which has now been broken.

The
deal was agreed last week for Boufal and had a medical earlier today. The club officially
announced the deal after the medical was passed and the contract was signed.
The
22-year-old has signed a five year contract which will keep him at the St Mary
Stadium until 2021.
Boufal
has expressed his happiness after signing the long term deal that he is very
happy to be a part of Southampton and cannot wait to play in the home stadium.
The
Saints have always produced and signed great young players and he is also
likely to be a star for them.
Southampton's
executive director Les Reed also revealed happiness upon this deal and said
that he is a talented winger, he has proved in France and now will be star in England.
Boufal
netted 11 goals in assisted five times for Lille last season.
The sad news is that the player is suffering from knee injury at the moment and would not be available for the
next few weeks.
