Liverpool
have announced the signing of Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle United,
according to SkySports.
The
Dutch midfielder who joined the Magpies last summer had a great debut season in
Premier League but unfortunately failed to keep Newcastle in the top
flight.
Wijnaldum
netted 11 goals in 38 games for Newcastle United.
Wijnaldum
has penned a long term deal at the Anfield Stadium and will be wearing the number
five jersey, previously worn by Daniel Agger.
The
25-year-old will be joining the Reds squad at the preseason tour in USA.
Wijnaldum
told Liverpool's official website that he is very excited to join one of the
biggest club with a great history. Furthermore, he admired Klopp and is keen to
work with him.
Wijnaldum
has capped 30 times for Netherlands.
Liverpool
manager Jurgen Klopp has now signed seven players Loris Karius, Joel Matip,
Marko Grujic, Sadio Mane, Ragnar Klavan, Alex Manninger and Wijnaldum.
The
Reds have been going great in the transfer market, they are still searching for
talented players and could take the number of signing to ten. The Summer Transfer Window has still more than month left.
