Liverpool
striker Christian Benteke wants to stay at Anfield Stadium despite of
struggling last season, according to his agent Kismet Eris.
The
Belgian who was signed by Brendan Rodgers last summer for £32.5million from
Aston Villa has failed to shine under new boss Jurgen Klopp.
Benteke’s
style of play does not suit Klopp’s style, Divock Origi has been preferred over
him.
Despite
of all the struggles his agent Kismet Eris has told SkySports that Benteke
still wants to stay at the club and is keen to fight for his place.
Several
sides including Crystal Palace are interested in signing him, according to
reports. Palace made £25million offer which was rejected by the Reds as they
have put a £30million price tag on their striker.
Furthermore,
the reports claimed that the deal with Palace has been agreed and the player
will be moving soon.
Kismet
told that he still has four years on his Liverpool contract and there is
nothing to tell about Palace move.
Benteke
made only 14 Premier League starts under German manager and he netted 10 goals
in all campaigns.
The 25-year-old will be discussing about the future plan with the boss once he return to preseason
tour.
