Barcelona
have announced the signing of midfielder Andre Gomes from Valencia for an undisclosed fee, according
to clubs' official
website.

The
Portuguese arrived for the medical yesterday and earlier today both the clubs
announced the deal has been completed.
The
22-year-old midfielder was exceptional for Valencia during his two seasons
spell. He was also part of Portugal European Championship winning squad.
Andre
Gomes made more than 70 appearances for Valencia since his move from Benfica in
2014.
Gomes
won a treble with Benfica in 2013-14, Portuguese League and two domestic cups,
also helped his side to reach the Europa League final.
Gomes
has made 9 appearances for his country Portugal since his debut in 2014.
Meanwhile, Chelsea were also interested in him, the reports claimed last month that Valencia rejected their offer.
Barcelona have now signed four players so far this summer, the first three are Denis Suarez (resigned from Villarreal), Samuel Umtiti (from Lyon) and Lucas Digne (from Paris Saint Germain).

Barcelona are keen to add depth to their squad by adding new talented youngsters. Manager
Luis Enrique has not targeted any big name this summer, he is planning to make
the future bright.
