Liverpool
are set to announce the signing of Sadio Mane from Southampton, according to BBC
reports.
Southampton
striker Sadio Mane will be having a medical later today at the Merseyside club
ahead of his move to Liverpool Football Club.
The
reports have claimed that the fee for the former Celtic man has been agreed
around in the region of £34million.
Liverpool
have already spent such amount of transfer fee on the Premier League strikers
in the past, they sign Christian Benteke for £32.5m and Andy Carroll for £35m and both of them failed to fulfill the expectations.
The
Saints were demanding £40m for the Senegalese but ended up with £34m which is still a big amount.
Liverpool
will now have Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi, Danny Ings and Sadio Mane for the
attacking role.
Mane
netted 11 vital goals in 37 Premier League games for the Saints last season.
With
the arrival of Mane, Benteke would likely to leave the club after his struggling
first season at the Anfield Stadium. The Belgian will be looking for regular
football.
Liverpool have maintained their record of signing Southampton players, they have signed Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne and Rickie Lambert since 2014.
