Liverpool
have revealed that striker Divock Origin has sustained a ligament injury which
will sideline him for the remainder of the season.
The
Reds striker has been in an excellent form, he has netted five goals in last five
games. But now he will miss the remaining five Premier League games plus the
Europa League semifinal next week.
Origi
picked up an injury while playing against Everton few days ago in a Premier
League Derby. Ramiro Funes Mori made a strong rough challenge which suspended
him for the next three games. However, he has now apologized for the incident.
The
recent reports from Liverpool medical team revealed a good news that he has not suffered a
broken ankle problem but ligament is still an issue.
Liverpool
manager Jurgen Klopp told after the game that they could not celebrate the win
because of Origi serious injury. The
striker has been in great form and was needed in the Europa League games.
Origi
is hoping to return soon as he eyes to join Belgium side for the coming European
Championship.
Daniel
Sturridge would now be filling his place in the starting eleven who is also in
great form.
