Daily
Mail have reported that Arsenal are planning to sign
Olivier Giroud's replacement this summer and have shortlisted several strikers.
Arsenal
are now struggling in the Premier League, currently on fourth spot. The Gunners
were the title challengers in the first half of the season but the New Year
took their dreams and hopes.
Giroud
has been the leading the striker for Arsenal for the past few years but has not
impressed enough. He has scored only 12 goals in the
Premier League so far.
Arsenal
manager Arsene Wenger is currently keeping tabs on Dortmund star striker Aubameyang
and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski. However, the Frenchman would go for
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema if he fails to seal both of the above
striker.
Benzema
has been linked with Arsenal for the past two years but has not decided to
leave Santiago Bernabue. At the moment, he is focusing on Real Madrid as they
can win Champions League as well as La Liga.
Benzema
is currently suspended from the France international side because of his
involvement in blackmailing group and would not be taking part in the coming European
Champions this summer.
