Arsenal
are planning to offer a bumper deal to their star player Mesut Ozil to keep him
for the period of another five years, according to Daily Mirror.
Mesut
Ozil has been in superb form this season, he has 10 assists in just 11 games so
far in the Premier League.
The
German who joined the Gunners from Real Madrid has just two years left on his
current contract.
Arsenal
paid £42million to Real Madrid in August 2013 to secure the German attacker’s
deal.
Arsenal
boss Arsene Wenger is keen to keep Ozil at Emirates Stadium for a long time.
The reports have suggested that the Frenchman and the club's officials are preparing
a mega deal for the German star which would keep him until 2020.
Ozil
is currently in his top form since joining the Gunners and it is the best time to
secure his long term deal.
The
27-year-old was admired by his international teammate Philipp Lahm who said
that he is the “most intelligent player in Europe”.
Arsenal
have already captured long term deals with Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott and
it is expected that they would seal another deal before the end of this year.
Meanwhile,
Alexis Sanchez is also in the queue and could also be given a new deal along
with Ozil.
