Bayern Munich president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that he turned down big
offers for his forward Thomas Muller in the summer transfer window.
Top
clubs Manchester Untied and Real Madrid were linked with the German forward who
has netted five goals in three games in the Bundesliga so far this season.
Man
Untied boss Louis van Gaal failed to bring any striker in the summer and would
probably be going to continue his search for the winter transfer window.
The
German giants refused to sell their star forward despite of having a big bid available
on the table.
Karl-Heinz
told: “I'm talking about figures which were very high indeed.”
However
he further added that if he would was a bank manager then he would have accepted
it.
Meanwhile, Rummenigge also admired the English clubs that they have now invested in a very well way.
With
Man Untied failing to bring any striker this summer they could face difficult
times in the competitions, they are also now a part of Champions League and
only Wayne Rooney is the senior striker who is totally out of form.
The
Englishman is yet to score a goal this season in the Premier League.
Rooney
has not scored in his last nine games in the Premier League.
