Arsenal
midfielder Santi Cazorla claimed that his international teammate Diego Costa
has told him that he is feeling great.
The
London Evening Standard reported that the Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla believes
that Costa is in great shape and he can score plenty of goals for the national
side.
Cazorla
and Costa who are rivals to each other at club level are reportedly enjoying
playing with each other for the country. Yesterday, they both featured in a 2
– 0 win over Slovakia in the European qualification round. However, Costa failed to score.
Cazorla
told the media before the match agasint Slovakia yesterday: “I
speak to Diego a lot and he says he’s feeling great.”
The
Chelsea forward has proved himself at club level but he is yet to shine at the
international level. The
26-year-old has netted only a goal in his eight appearances for Spain.
Spain
will play their next game against FYR Macedonia on the coming Tuesday at Nacionalna
Arena Filip II Makedonski. Macedonia have lost six of their last seven games in
the Euro Qualification group stage.
Spain are leading the Group C with 18 points in seven games. They are likely to finish the group at top. Slovakia are also with the same situation six wins in their seven games.
