Premier League outfit Southampton are keeping tabs on Celtic center-back Virgil van
Dijk, according to SkySports.
The
Scottish side are keen to keep their star defender and they believe that their
qualification to the Champions League would convince the player to stay for atleast
this season.
The
Saints have been eyeing him for the past several months. The reports from SkySports revealed that Southampton’s captain Jose Fonte is keen to bring the
Dutchman as he said that it would be a great addition to the squad. Fonte is
confident that they can secure his move before the summer window ends.

However,
Celtic manager Deila has clearly told in the past that their star player is not
for sale.
Virgil
van Dijk has made 110 appearances for Celtic since his move from Groningen in
2013.
Van
Dijk is reportedly happy at the Scottish club and is eyeing to play in the Champions
League campaign which will start in November.
Former
Scottish footballer and current expert Andy Walker believes that the
24-year-old defender would love to play Champions League football.
The
reports further added that the Saints are planning to offer £7 million which is
considered as a low amount for the defender.
