Manchester
United have launched a bid for Southampton midfielder Sadio Mane, according to SkySports.
The
Red Devils were in contact with the Saints' representatives last week and now
they have finally offered them officially.
The
23-year-old who is holding a record of quick hatrick in the Premier League has
been eyed by boss Louis van Gaal as an alternate to Pedro Rodriguez.
Man United have been in link with Barcelona attacker Pedro but the recent reports
claim that Chelsea are set to seal his deal in the next few days. La Liga side Barca
have reportedly agreed £21.1 million bid for the Spanish midfielder.
While,
Mane who could become a Man United player this month has already enjoyed his
success in the Premier League.
The
Senegal international who netted 10 goals last season was signed for £11.8 million
last summer from Red Bull Salzburg.
The
Red Devils have only signed one attacker Memphis Depay and now they are set to add
another with the signature of Sadio Mané.
The
Dutch manager Louis Van Gaal claimed that they were in the race of Pedro and
they could have signed him in the start of the window but in the recent weeks
they were not interested.
