Manchester
United star Robin van Persie is set to leave as Lazio eye him as Miroslav Klose’s
replacement, according to Daily Star.
Lazio
star striker Miroslav Klose is expected to join MLS side and the Serie A outfit
will be then short of strikers.
The
Daily Star report earlier today that
the deal has been agreed between both the sides. The fee is around 10 million
pounds.
Robin
van Persie who won Premier League title with Manchester United failed to shine
in the last season due to injuries. With Man United in search of a new
striker it was already expected that the Dutchman will leave.
The
31-year-old netted 10 goals in 27 appearances in the Premier League.
The
former Arsenal man has only a year left and United have no plans to give him a
new deal, if they failed to sell him this summer then he will be going on a further
cheap price in the winter window or may on a free transfer next summer.
Lazio
have offered Robin van Persie a four year deal but the wages will not be half of what
he has been earning at Old Trafford.
Van
Persie has scored 57 goals in 105 games for the Red Devils inn all
competitions.
