Liverpool
are keen to seal the deal of Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin this
month, according to talkSPORT.
Liverpool reportedly made a £10million offer for the French midfielder who has been strongly linked with London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Reds
manager Brendan Rodgers already signed three star players Dejan Lovren, Rickie
Lambert and Adam Lallana from the Saints last summer and is looking to add more this summer.
Steven
Gerrard will be leaving for MLS side LA Galaxy and the Reds are in search of a
midfielder despite of agreeing a deal with James Milner few weeks ago who will
be available next month on a free deal.
Arsenal
were linked with Schneiderlin strongly in the past month, the reports even claimed
that the deal has been agreed verbally but still it ended as rumours.
Meanwhile, Liverpool
are also keeping tabs on full-back Nathan Clyne as the Reds eye him as a long
term replacement of Glen Johnson. Manchester United are also in the race for
the right-back.
Clyne
will be entering his final year of Southampton contract and he has no plans to
extend his deal.
Liverpool’s right-back Jon Flanagan remained out for the whole last season while Javi Manquillo who was on loan from Valencia failed to make impact. Midfielder Emre Can was used as a defender in the previous season.
