Chelsea
have reignited their interest in Atletico Madrid Brazilian center-back Miranda,
as per The Daily Telegraph.
Chelsea
were keen to land the Brazilian defender last summer when they signed two of Atletico
Madrid stars Diego Costa and Filipe Luis.
The
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is planning to seal his move this window as the
30-year-old will be out of contract next summer.
Atletico
are keen to keep their star defender, they offered Toby Alderweireld instead of
Miranda but the London side rejected and remain keen on the Brazilian center-back.
Chelsea
current center-backs John Terry and Gary Cahill both were superb in the recent season.
Young defender Kurt Zouma also impressed and could be the future regular center-half.
Meanwhile,
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is also said to be interested in his move
and could be giving a tough time to Chelsea.
Man
United who faced several problems with the back four this season are eyeing to
sign an experienced defender.
They
have been in link with Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, however the player has not said anything about his summer move.
Miranda
would cost around 10 million pounds as his contract has a year left only. The
La Liga side will surely want him to sell else he could leave on a free
transfer next summer.
