Liverpool
have entered the race to sign French full-back Samuel Umtiti from Lyon, according
to Daily Star.
Liverpool
boss Brendan Rodgers will have to fight to seal his move as reports have already
linked the 21-year-old to several of top Premier League sides including Arsenal
and Manchester City.
Samuel
Umtiti is a versatile player, he can play on variety of positions including
left-back and center-back.

Despite
of singing Dejan Lovren from Southampton last summer Liverpool failed to solve defensive issues. Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho who performed very well
together in the recent season will once again partnership next term. Despite of
it boss is still eyeing to make the defensive side more strong as last season Sakho
suffered injuries and Lovren and Toure failed to maintain the defensive form.
Kolo
Toure was awarded with a contract extension last month but he will remain a backup
player, will be used only in case of emergency.
Umtiti
is a young and solid defender who can add depth to Liverpool’s squad. The player
has the potential to become one of the finest defender in the future if the club
develop him in a right way.
The Frenchman has a £11million value and it would not be difficult for the Reds to splash such amount but also it will not be that easy to seal his move as Man City and Arsenal are in the race.
