Manchester
City and Premier League Champions Chelsea are set to fight for the signature of
Barcelona unsettled midfielder Alex Song, according to SkySports.
The
two top sides of England are keen to seal the deal as soon as possible as Barcelona
will listen to any offer ranging around £5 million.
The
La Liga giants signed him from Arsenal few years ago for a fee around £15 million,
however the player never got a consistent run of games at Camp Nou and is now
keen to return to Premier League on permanent basis.
Song
spent last season loan at West Ham Untied, he was a regular player for them. The 27-year-old played 28 games for
them in the Premier League last term. He has also been targeted by the Hammers.
West
Ham are confident that the loan spell will help them to seal the deal
permanently.
The
Cameroonian star has still two years left on his Barca contract but the player
has no plans to waste his time at the Camp Nou.
Song
who reportedly earns £70,000-per-week will have to accept a pay cut if he is
eyeing to join West Ham. While joining Man City or even Chelsea would be good for
him only considering the contract. He will have to struggle at both the sides
for regular time.
