Premier League Champions Chelsea are planning to launch £40million offer for Liverpool
starlet Raheem Sterling, according to SkySports.
SkySports believe
that Chelsea are keen to sign the Englishman and are set to submit an offer
despite of knowing the fee demanded by Liverpool for Sterling is £50million.
Sterling
who was signed from QPR by Rafael Benitez in 2010 has two years left on his current
contract. The Reds offered him new deals but the player has no plans to stay at
Anfield Stadium.
Liverpool offered £100,000-a-week contract, however Sterling rejected it by saying that
money does not matter he wants to move to a bigger club where he can win
trophies.
Sterling
is keen to sign for a Champions League side. But Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers wants Sterling to stay and told that he is not
for sale but the reports believe that the fee around £50million will be enough
to change his mind.
Liverpool
have already signed their fifth summer signing Roberto Firmino from German side
FC Hoffenheim earlier today. He will be undergoing a medical once his international duty finishes.
The
Brazilian who is currently at Copa Amierca has been signed as Sterling’s
replacement.
