Chelsea
are preparing to make an offer around €18 million for VfB Stuttgart star
Antonio Rüdiger, according to English reports.
The
22-year-old center-back has been targeted by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho in the
recent weeks.
Bleacher
Report and Express further revealed that the London side are preparing to sign Rüdiger this week.
Mourinho
is planning to sign John Terry’s long term replacement as the veteran Englishman
will be coming closer to his ending days. Terry was one of the best defender last term in the Premier League despite of reaching the age of 34.
The
German side Stuttgart have only demanded €18 million for their defender and it
is expected that Chelsea will be meet that demand easily.
Rüdiger
has been a regular player since breaking into first team in 2012-2013 season.
He is a versatile defender can be used on the full-back role. He has also
earned six caps for the senior Germany side.
Rüdiger
made 18 starts last term in Bundesliga.
Meanwhile,
Chelsea veteran stopper Petr Cech has left the Stamford Bridge side for Arsenal
yesterday.
Also,
Chelsea are preparing a bid for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba who has been
targeted by several top sides. La Liga giants Barcelona are expected to win the
race.
