Inter
Milan are closing on a deal with Manchester City for their star midfielder Yaya
Toure, according to Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti.
Inter legend Javier Zanetti revealed that the deal is likely to be concluded once the season ends.
Zanetti
said: "We are at the stage where we hope we can complete it. Yaya would
give us that leap in quality."
Boss
Roberto Mancini is keen to team up with his former player once again at San
Siro.
The
Serie A side are eyeing the former Barcelona player despite of having a fine of
£15million fine from UEFA as they broke Financial Fair Play rules.
The
StarSports believe that the Inter
boss is keen to land his former star but the wages might make some problem in
his move.
Mancini
who signed Toure from Barcelona in 2010 will have to pay £220,000-a-week to
secure his deal.
Inter Milan have been struggling in the past few seasons, currently on eight spot in
the league. The Italian boss believes that the arrival of Toure can take them
back to the glory days.
Also, his
agent Dimitri Seluk revealed earlier this month that his client is likely to
leave the Citizens at the end of the season.
Roma
and PSG are also said to be interested in his move but the former City boss is
confident that he will beat the other sides.
