Arsenal
have reignited their interest in Olympique Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff,
according to Metro reports.
The
Gunners have been targeting the player since long but never came close in
signing him. The reports believe that after the recent comments made by Lyon
President Jean-Michel Aulas, the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will now try to
land his former top target.
The
President stated that they will not be offering him a new deal and he can
decide his future. He is a great player but failed to settle himself, said Michel
Aulas.
The
28-year-old will be out of contract next month and the Gunners manager is now
planning to seal his free move.
Gourcuff
has not been impressive for the Ligue One side. He netted three and assisted
five goals in 19 appearances. However, he is an experienced player, he has
played for AC Milan when they were European Champions and also for his country
France.

Arsene
Wenger will now be keen to get him as an experienced attacking midfielder will
be available for free next month.
Gourcuff will have to struggle at the Emirates as they already have several of stars for the attacking role. Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla all have been great this season.
