Mundo Deportivo claimed that the Gunners are planning to raise his wage around £65,000-a-week by offering another long term deal.

Arsene Wenger signed him in 2013 from Malaga in winter window, that time he signed a four year deal which will expire in 2017.

He is currently playing third season at the Emirates Stadium, he has made more than 70 appearances in all competitions.

The Spanish full-back has been a vital player for the Gunners this season, he has won many plaudits in the recent weeks with the recent one from skipper Mikel Arteta.

Arteta said that he is very focused and working hard to keep his place.
“You know what you are going to get when he’s playing – he’s very focused, very determined in every action.”

The 29-year-old has played in variety of defensive positions this season. He has been seen on the central defensive role too apart from his favourite left-back role.

Monreal has also added few important goals this term. He scored the goal against Manchester United in a FA Cup knockout game few weeks ago.
