Manchester
United defender Chris Smalling is likely to make a comeback for the coming Premier League game against Aston Villa this weekend.
The Red Devils will host the Villains at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The
Englishman picked up an injury yesterday while playing a friendly game for
England against Italy in Turin. He was taken off just two minutes before the
half time due to sickness, as per the reports.
However,
the medical team has confirmed that the player is expected to return despite of
his minor injury during the international duty.
United
have already struggled in the first half of the season with defensive injuries
but still managed to concede only 27 goals, only Chelsea and Southampton have less.
Smalling
has been an important player for the Red Devils in since the start of the new
season. Smalling and Phil Jones have cemented their spot in the central
defensive role.
Smalling has netted three goals in 22 appearances so far this term.
United boss Louis van Gaal is hoping to snatch third spot from Arsenal this weekend. The Gunners will face Liverpool and even a draw will give United a chance to get the third spot in the Premier League table.
