Manchester
United boss Louis van Gaal is expeceted to reject any offer for his defender
Chris Smalling from Arsenal again, as per the reports.
Arsenal
have been keeping tabs on the English man for the summer move and reports
claimed that a 12 million pounds bid is being prepared by the Gunners manager
Arsene Wenger.
The
United boss has already rejected Arsenal approach last summer and is likely to
do the same in the coming transfer window. LVG believes that he is now starting
to show his potential.
Last summer, United
were keen for Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen prior to his move to
Barcelona. But Wenger wanted to include Smalling in Vermaelen’s
deal which was rejected by the Red Devils.
Manchester United signed him from Fulham for a 10 million pound deal back in 2010. But the player
has been inconsistent due to injuries.
Smalling
has been an important player for Red Devils in the recent games but they are
still looking for a fine centre-back for next season. They have been linked
with Paris Saint Germain’s Marquinhos, Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi and Borussia
Dortmund’s Mats Hummels for the summer move.
Untied
who are currently on fourth spot have conceded 27 goals, only more than Chelsea
and Southampton. But LVG is still keen to strengthen his defensive area.
