Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan as
the player has rejected to sign new deal with the German club, according to
Bild. arsenal
German
newspaper BILD reported earlier today that Manchester United target Ilkay
Gundogan has refused to sign a new deal.
The
Red Devils have been targeting him for the past few months but they took a step
back when the reports revealed that he will sign a new deal, however, he is now
stalling his deal which has alerted the top European clubs including
Manchester United and Arsenal again.
BILD
further reported that the reason of refusing new deal is that he is waiting
for Manchester United’s offer.
The
24-year-old who has 18-months on his current contract would cost around £25
million. While reports suggest that United boss Louis van Gaal is ready to offer
£22 million in the summer.
Dortmund
are still confident on his new deal as they have climbed up the table from
relegation zone to 10th spot.
The
German player has missed the most part of the season with injury. He has scored
2 goals and assisted 3 times in 12 Bundesliga starts so far this season.
