Arsenal
are keeping tabs on Champions League top scorer Luiz Adriano, according to Metro.
The
reports have recently linked the player with a move away from his side Shakhtar
Donetsk and further confirmed earlier today that he is eyeing for a move in the summer.
The
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has shortlisted several strikers including Palermo youngster
Paulo Dybala and Porto star Jackson Martinez for the summer move.
Arsenal
current striker have not been able to score more than 20 goals a season and the
boss is keen to strengthen his attacking area to challenge for the Premier League
title next season.
Olivier
Giroud and Danny Welbeck are Arsenal current senior strikers. Giroud has been
good in the past few games while Welbeck has spent most of his time on the
bench due to tough competition in the squad.
Adriano,
who is leading the Champions League goal scoring chart with nine goals for the Ukrainian
side is keen to join a top European club.
Metro
quoted him saying: “I am in a good moment of my career. With my contract set to expire and
many good performances, it’ll be difficult to stay in Ukraine.”
His
contract is also nearing its end and the player has no plans to sign a new
deal.
On
the other hand, Arsenal are likely to seal Morgan Schneiderlin deal as he confirmed
that he will leave Southampton if they fail to get the Champions League spot.
