Arsenal
have confirmed officially that starlet Chuba Akpom has signed a loan agreement
with Championship side Nottingham Forest for the remainder of the season.
Arsenal
starlet has been targeted by several Championship sides in the January window,
he was linked strongly with a loan move on the deadline day. But now finally he
has joined a club which can offer him regular playing time for the coming few
months.
It
was reported few days ago that seven Championship sides were eyeing him. Norwich City were also one of the top sides that almost agreed a deal with Arsenal for
him. Wigan Athletic, Derby County and Fulham were also the interested parties.
The
19-year-old has been struggling with first team opportunities. He has made only
seven appearances and was yet to start a game. His performances were very impressive
but due to tough competition in the Arsenal squad it was not easy to get
consistent run of games.
The
Englishman signed a long term deal last month and is likely to return in summer
with high hopes.
Meanwhile,
his teammate Theo Walcott has revealed on Social Media account that he has not
been offered a new contract by the London side.
