Arsenal
have a bad news as striker Danny Welbeck has picked up an injury while
representing England against Lithuania last night.
Arsenal
will face Liverpool in the coming weekend and the striker Danny Welbeck has
picked up a knee injury after challenging with the Lithuania keeper.
Welbeck
was the star performer throughout the game, he scored and assisted a goal but
his injury in the end will now take him away from football. England’s medical
team has confirmed that Welbeck will miss a game against Italy on Tuesday.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is now waiting for the update regarding the injury’s
seriousness.
England
boss Roy Hodgson revealed that he was already planning to take off Welbeck but unfortunately, he was late and Welbeck picked up an injury.
Meanwhile,
England also released Liverpool youngster Raheem Sterling and Everton full-back
Leighton Baines. Arsenal duo Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs are now likely to get
a chance in Tuesday's game against Italy. Also, Harry Kane who scored the
fourth goal against Lithuania could get his first start for England.
While
on the other hand, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has already suffered an
injury which will keep him out for a month, he will miss this weekend’s clash against the Gunners.
