Manchester
United are planning to beat Arsenal for Brazilian attacker Roberto Firmino, according
to Daily Mail.
Manchester
United have recently joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Roberto
Firmino from German side Hoffenheim.
The
reports claimed few days ago that Arsenal are likely to win the race but United
boss Louis van Gaal is now keen to land the Brazilian playmaker as he eyes to offload
several of his star players.
The
Red Devils are likely to offload flop striker Radamel Falcao who is on a
two-year loan deal from French side AS Monaco. While
record summer signing Angel di Maria from Real Madrid has also been predicted
to leave the Old Trafford side in the summer.
Firmino
has been a top performer in the Bundesliga, he has scored eight goals and set
up nine in 27 games for the German outfit this term. Last season, he was more
impressive as he netted 22 goals with 16 assists.
The
Daily Mail further revealed that United are planning a €42million bid for the
23-year-old.
Firmino
will surely be a good addition to the squad and will help them to fight for the
title next season.
Meanwhile,
Liverpool who are also said to be interested are likely to take a step back now
after the big offers planned by the other English outfits.
