Arsenal
goalkeeper Deyan Iliev has signed a new long term deal with the London club recently,
according to Arsenal.com.
The
club officially revealed that the 20-year-old signed a long term deal with the
club.
Deyan
Iliev signed made only two appearances for under-21 side due to his finger
injury last season. His
injury problems have limited his playing time, he has not featured for the
first team yet. He
missed last season with a finger injury and this time he has suffered another
injury which has sidelined him for long. But despite of this the
club offered him a new deal.
A
new deal for Iliev surely raise a question that will Arsenal ever need him in
the near future?
Apart
from his injury problems Arsenal have already three keepers in their
ranks and the oldest among them is only 26-year-old which is a very young
age for a goalkeeper.
Wojciech
Szczęsny, David Ospina and Damian Martinez are all fighting for the first spot.
Currently, Ospina, the summer signing is impressing in the goal.
The
Macedonia international Iliev was a regular palyer for the under-21 side but his
injury has given his regular place to another stopper.
