Manchester
United have received a big boost as the reports reveal that Mats Hummels will
move to Manchester United, as per Manchester
Evening.
The Red Devils have been in link with the German centre-back since long but now
their summer move is likely to be done soon as the reports reveal that Hummels
promised Sir Alex Ferguson that he would join Manchester United if he leave
Germany.
Former
Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson was being told by Hummels when he went to Germany
to discuss Robert Lewandowski and Shinji Kagawa moves in 2012.
Kagawa
sealed United deal for a fee around £12million pound, however, Sir Alex failed to sign
Lewandowski and then landed Robin van Persie from Arsenal.
Hummels
who was the part of World Cup winning squad told Ferguson that time: “Should
I make the move abroad one day, then it will only be to Manchester United.”
The
26-year-old has two years left on his current contract but is ready to leave
Dortmund this summer despite of his teammate Marco Reus' decision of staying.
The
Bundesliga outfit will lose another star, they have already sold several of their star players including Mario
Gotze, and Lewandowski in the past few years.
However,
Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke told German newspaper Bild: "He is under
contract until 2017, and we have not received an offer. That's why we are
completely relaxed."
Meanwhile Arsenal who were also interested in his move will now have to look for other defenders.
