Liverpool
are planning to beat Arsenal for Barcelona attacker Pedro Rodríguez, as per reports
from Liverpool Echo.
Arsenal
have been targeting the Spanish attacker since long but are yet to make the
deal. With Liverpool taking keen interest in the player Arsenal would now have
to take it seriously else they would lose the Barcelona winger.
Pedro
has not been a regular player for the Catalans since the arrival of star
striker Luis Suarez from Liverpool last summer. He has managed only 11 starts in the league.
The
27-year-old who has won Champions League and La Liga trophies with Barcelona is
likely to leave the club this summer for regular football.
Pedro
told Spanish newspaper Sport:
“The truth is that it’s
complicated for those of us who play less.”
Pedro
has started 11 games in La Liga so far this term but still managed to score 5
goals in them.
“But when I go out [to play], I always give it all, the of me. It’s
my way of being; I never give up.”
While
the reports further said that the Reds are also keeping tabs on André Ayew of
Marseille. Ayew will be out of contract this summer.
The
25-year-old who won Ghanaian player of the year few years ago has been a vital
figure for the French side. He has scored 52 goals in 182 appearances in all competitions.
